Sigma Kappa

President's Welcome

President's Welcome

Sigma Kappa is difficult to effectively define or describe. The bond of the women in this chapter reaches deeper than any website, video footage, or heartfelt letter can depict. The people I have surrounded myself with in this organization provide a constant, never-ending support system. Every woman in the room is truly my sister, encouraging myself and everyone to endeavor on opportunities of personal growth.

In accepting my bid in the Fall of 2016, I have been able to gain everything I never even knew I needed. I have achieved the confidence and great character it takes to lead as President. I wouldn’t have been able to accept this opportunity without 140 sisters behind my back, supporting me every step of the way. I have learned more about myself in the time I have spent in Sigma Kappa, than I have in any other aspects of life. Our college years can bring tough, unexpected times, and having people to immerse ourselves with has made all the difference. I have built long lasting friendships to fulfill the cliche line of “I have found my future bridesmaids”.

In serving as president, I have come to take great pride in our accomplishments. Spanning from raising incredible amounts of money for our philanthropies, to seeing sisters embrace their academic opportunities, and even realizing how great our impact is on campus and in the community.

This group of unique individuals has helped me to become a better me, and for that I am forever thankful. I want to share the joys that Sigma Kappa has brought me with whoever I can. I hope that from this you gained just a glimpse into our sisterhood and the common love that we share. If you would like to know more, please do not hesitate to contact me personally at kawadal@mail.gvsu.edu I would love to help you along  with any further questions you may have.
